Inside you are surrounded by the smells and textures you expect in Muskoka...pine, cedar, oak and real stone. The three fireplaces are built of real stone quaried within five miles of Three Mile Lake. Sit beside the black granite hearths and enjoy the simple pleasure of the smell of a real wood fire. When you hang your clothes, enjoy the pleasurable scent of the cedar lined closets throughout the premises. Outside, enjoy the beautifl look and smell of the cedar siding from nearby mills. As you walk to the kitchen enjoy the wide plank solid oak flooring beneath your feet. The ceiling and walls are generously trimmed in wide local pine so the entire place just feels....natural. When you step out of the shower enjoy the warmth of the heated slate tiles beneath your toes. With 1500 square feet of wooden decking (split between sunny upper and shady lower decks) there is no shortage of space to sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee.
We believe that only natural materials belong in the woods! We feel that a little extra maintenance is worth it!!!...(besides it builds the kids character!). So we have avoided using manmade materials like vynyl siding, plastic decking, laminates or ceramics. Our motto is "real living".
But where it counts this cottage has the ameneties we know you expect. High speed internet access (installation not yet complete - 04/08), multi-room audio in six separate zones with keypads in every important location (installation not yet complete - 04/08); bathroom floor heaters and heat lamps, a seven person hot tub and a washer and dryer on the main floor.
As general contractors we have ensured that our cottage dramatically exceeds minimum building codes by a huge margin. With 10 inch thick poured foundation walls, engineered "Silent Floor" joists, and exterior decking supported by 6x6 structural steel columns this building feels as solid as the Canadian shield bedrock that it's built on. Continuous light, heat and power is ensured by a 15000W back up generator fueled by a 3000L propane tank, giving you peace of mind no matter what mother nature has to offer. Every single circuit is protected by GFCI's for the safety of any children. Sleep safely knowing that the premises is monitored 24 hours a day for fire, theft, or carbon monoxide by the "Peerless Security" system. This cottage is safe and reliable...to ensure you won't have any worries on vacation.
We have built our cottage with a view to our own retirement, and have paid attention to every single detail. It has been a labour of love. We are happy to offer our cottage to a select number of friends, family, and valued repeat clients. Follow Highway 400 North to Highway 11 (continue north of Orillia)
Follow Highway 11 to Exit at Taylor Road (Bracebridge, Ontario)
Go east on Taylor road to downown Bracebridge, turn right (north) on Manitoba
Go North on Manitoba out of Bracebridge
Continue North as Manitoba turns into Highway 35 and then turns into Highway 141 north (approximately 10 minutes)
Continue north on Highway 141 into village of Raymond
Just after "Raymond" sign, turn left (west) on Three Mile Lake Road #1
Go east on Three MIle Lake Road #1 to Carlo Enterprise Road, turn left (south) towards the lake (marked with a 'Wakelin' sign
Go south on Carlo Enterprise Road
Follow Carlo Enterprise as it curves west, up a big hill, down, up a smaller hill
Turn left down driveway/right of way at #1095 Carlo Enterprise (marked with a 'Wakelin' sign)
