There is a little beach, over the dike where you can sunbathe or swim in the lake in the summer. This is a very safe, quiet and beautiful place for a honeymoon, a wedding anniversary, for writing, for reading a good book. If you like to be more active: there are lots of opportunities to explore the countryside by foot, bicycle or by car. It is a great place for bird watching and if you like horses you can watch the neighbor training his horses at sunset. The environment of the apartment is beautiful and unspoiled, a quiet and safe area. Edam is a very charming little town, and there are lots of other old fisherman villages to explore. For museums, theatre and galleries you can go to Amsterdam. In the summer you can swim in the lake or go the the beach right at your doorstep. In the spring the tulip fields are nearby and Amsterdam is worthwhile to visit in all seasons of course. If you like a quiet, safe place where you can relax after day trips or simply stay 'at home' this is the place to be.
